With the impressive panoramic view of the Osorno Volcano and the
fantastic waters of the Llanquihue Lake, this beautiful city impresses

that dates since final of the XIX century.
Puerto Octay is settlers’ land that arrived to this area in 1840. Since
this moment began a quick proliferation of the architecture and the

Arriving
This beautiful port of the Llanquihue Lake is located on 53 kilometers of
Osorno. Youcan go for a road asphalted in good state. If you travel from
Frutillar, you shall traffic by the route OR-55 around 23 kilometers of asphalt
and then you have to take the last tract from the Circumvallation Road to the
Llanquihue Lake for Frutillar Bajo.
The best places
Puerto Octay is a nice place... it is ideal to relax and to enjoy a beautiful
natural lanscape. But there are many cultural and sport activities, nautical
sports and hiking to the Osorno Volcano.
One of the main characteristics of this area is its impressive architecture.
Going by the streets of Puerto Octay is coming back to 1900 and to appreciate
the great quality and excellent invoice of the constructions.
In the Emilio Held Winkler Culture House you can see a vast collection of
historical documents, articles and pictures of colonists' families. You can also
visit "El Colono" it is an interesting museum that is in route to the Centinela
Peninsula. It contains a sample of old agricultural machinery.
Other prominent constructions are the Puerto Fonck Church, the Centinela Hotel,
the Maitén Chapel and the numerous houses that are in the downtown. They are
conserved and with a magic style that amazes the tourists who visit this
beautiful.
