NAMES: The Chucao (Scelorchilus rubecula)

It is the most characteristic inhabitant of the Template Forests of Chile, called “Cheucau” by Darwin. The fallen trees are very important for this species because they build their nests in them, and the disappearance and fragmentation of the old forests will lead to the extinction of the species.
